Human Resources Policies Essay Example for Free
HR Policies Essay Armstrong, (2006) characterized Human Resource strategies as proceeding with rules on the methodology the association expects to embrace in dealing with its kin. Furthermore, it can likewise be characterized as the ways of thinking and estimations of the association on how individuals ought to be dealt with, and from these are inferred the standards whereupon supervisors are relied upon to act when managing Human Resource matters. Human Resource approaches in this way fill in as reference focuses when work rehearses are being created, and when choices are being made about individuals. Mullins, (2005) featured that Human Resource Management must be focused on making a workplace liberated from separation and where all representatives are dealt with similarly with poise, civility and regard. This should be possible by establishing Human Resource approaches that shows how individuals ought to be dealt with, and from these are inferred the standards whereupon directors are required to act when managing Human Resource matters. The most widely recognized regions wherein explicit Human Resource strategies exist are HIV and AIDS, discipline, worker improvement, representative relations, enrollment and choice, equivalent chance, complaints, wellbeing and security, overseeing assorted variety, advancement, repetition, reward, inappropriate behavior, substance misuse and work life equalization and messages and the web. Cole (1997) contended that this business value strategy helps in forestalling separation and advancing correspondence in the work environment. The equivalent open door strategy should explain the organizationââ¬â¢s assurance to give equivalent chances to all, regardless of sex, race, ideology, incapacity, age or conjugal status. The approach ought to likewise manage the degree to which the association needs to make agreed move to review uneven characters between numbers utilized by sex or race, or to contrasts in the degrees of capabilities and abilities they have accomplished. As indicated by the Labor Act (Chapter 28:01),Section 5 expresses that no business will separate any representative or planned worker on grounds of race, clan, spot of starting point, political feeling, shading, doctrine, sexual orientation, pregnancy, HIV/AIDS status or subject to the Disabled Persons Act (Chapter 17:01). Each supervisor must find a way to advance equivalent open door in the working environment by taking out of line segregation in any business strategy or practice inside their circle of power. All types of out of line segregation, regardless of whether immediate or backhanded, are denied and it is simply the obligation of all representatives to educate themselves about and abstain from executing unreasonable separation. The lewd behavior strategy is another approach which targets forestalling and overseeing inappropriate behavior in the working environment. Inappropriate behavior is undesirable and unwanted lewd gestures, demands for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical lead of a sexual sort that is made either unequivocally or certainly a term or state of business; or is utilized as the reason for work choices influencing such a person. The organization must disallow wrong direct that is sexual in nature at work, on organization business, or at organization supported occasions . This should be possible by restricting remarks, jokes, or corrupting language or conduct that is sexual in nature, explicitly intriguing items, books, magazines, photos, kid's shows, pictures, schedules, banners or electronic interchanges and unwanted lewd gestures, demands for sexual favors, or any sexual contacting this is as indicated by Armstrong (2006). Inappropriate behavior is restricted whether itââ¬â¢s between individuals from the other gender or individuals from a similar sex. All directors have a key obligation in building up and keeping up a working environment liberated from individual badgering and they are legitimately answerable for the lead of their staff. Lewd behavior is viewed as gross modern unfortunate behavior and whenever demonstrated makes the individual at risk for moment excusal. Less extreme punishments might be saved for minor cases however there will consistently be an admonition that redundancy will bring about excusal. In this way all representative s are relied upon to agree to this arrangement and that it is the moral obligation of every worker to guarantee that improper lead doesn't happen, as expressed by Armstrong (2010). Wellbeing arrangements ought to mirror the businesses pledge to security and wellbeing at work and ought to demonstrate what gauges of conduct are to be focused on in wellbeing and wellbeing government assistance matters. The approach explanation ought to be attracted to the consideration all things considered. By and by this is accomplished by giving a wellbeing strategy report to all workers by means of their compensation bundles, or by giving organization handbooks which incorporate subtleties of the approach. The significant point is that the business ought to have the option to show that he has accomplished something beyond pin up a notification in different pieces of his premises, this is hypothesized by Mullins (2005). The HIV/Aids strategy is likewise utilized and its motivation is to give direction on overseeing departmental reactions to HIV/AIDS in a way that agrees to the National Aids Policy and appropriate laws, kills uncalled for separation and empowers the bridling of each personââ¬â¢s maximum capacity. Workers who realize that they are contaminated with HIV won't be obliged to reveal the reality to the organization, yet in the event that they do, the reality will remain totally private. There must be no victimization anybody with or in danger of obtaining AIDS. What's more, workers tainted by HIV or experiencing AIDS must be dealt with no uniquely in contrast to any other individual enduring an extreme ailment. Every single human asset procedures and practices ought to advance an asserting non-unfair condition that encourages regard for the poise of all while guaranteeing the greatest profitability of every representative paying little heed to HIV/AIDS status. This will be done through a standard audit of every single human asset practices and procedures to dispense with existing or likely immediate and roundabout segregation on the ground of HIV/AIDS. A forthcoming representative won't be required to unveil their HIV/AIDS status, there will be no pre-business HIV/AIDS testing in regard of a planned worker and both changeless and agreement workers are not obliged to reveal their HIV/AIDS status, as subject to Labor Relations Act (section 28:01). Enrollment and choice arrangements are likewise used to guarantee a workplace that is against biased, equitable, deferential of rights, aware of nobility and lawfully stable or authentic. The Human asset division must be resolved to use enrollment and choice practices that depend on merit, value, objectivity, reasonableness and the need to review the uneven characters of the past in order to accomplish an office that is comprehensively delegate. As indicated by Story (1995), the enrollment procedure ought to mirror the departmentââ¬â¢s work value esteems and objectives. In addition, all periods of the enrollment procedure must help the enlistment of reasonably qualified people from differing racial and different foundations with the end goal of allowing them a chance to serve all the individuals with greatness and responsiveness. Contemplations of governmental policy regarding minorities in society will advise the whole enrollment process. The arrangement on age and business should consider that age is a helpless indicator of employment execution. It is deceiving to compare physical and mental capacity with age. A greater amount of the populace are living dynamic, solid lives as they get more seasoned. Accordingly the arrangement ought to characterize the methodology the association receives to connecting with, advancing and preparing more seasoned representatives. It ought to underscore that the main measure for choice or advancement ought to be capacity to carry out the responsibility; and for preparing, the conviction that the worker will profit, independent old enough. The strategy ought to likewise express that age prerequisites ought not be set out in outer or interior occupation ads. Armstrong (2006). Assorted variety the executives strategy is an idea that perceives the advantages to be picked up from contrasts. A strategy on overseeing assorted variety perceives that there are contrasts among representatives and that these distinctions, if appropriately oversaw, will empower work to be accomplished all the more productively and adequately. This idea doesn't concentrate only on issues of separation however rather focuses on perceiving the contrasts between individuals. Maund (2001) express it, the idea of overseeing assorted variety is established on the reason that saddling these distinctions will make a gainful situation in which everybody will feel esteemed, where their gifts are completely used and in which hierarchical objectives are met. The assorted variety the executives strategy must recognize social and individual contrasts in the working environment, express that the association esteems the various characteristics that individuals bring to their employments, underline the need to dispose of predisposition in such regions as choice, advancement, execution appraisal, pay and learning openings and spotlight consideration on singular contrasts instead of gathering contrasts. Mathis, (2003) is of the view that the disciplinary strategy should express that workers reserve the option to realize what is anticipated from them and what could occur on the off chance that they encroach the organizationââ¬â¢s rules. It would likewise mention that, in dealing with disciplinary cases, the association will treat representatives as per the standards of regular equity. It must be the arrangement of the organization that workers ought to be given a reasonable hearing by their prompt director or chief concerning any complaints they may wish to raise, reserve the privilege to speak to a progressively ranking director against a choice made by their quick boss or supervisor and reserve the option to be joined willingly when raising a complaint or engaging against a choice. Occurred In The United States Of America â⬠Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Talk About The Occurred In The United States Of America? Answer: Presentation Toward the completion of the year 2007, a downturn happened in the United States of America (Cetorelli, Goldberg, 2012). The creator (Hurd, Rohwedder, 2010) perceived that a sound economy would encounter a future period of moderate development, high development or even no development by any stretch of the imagination. In agreement to (Eisner, Pieper, 1984) economy is required to show both withdrawal and extension to make the economy as solid as could reasonably be expected. After the contracting time frame has commanded for an extensive stretch, for example at least a half year straight or two progressive quarters of a year the economy merits being considered as a downturn. As indicated by (NBER, 2010) National Bureau of Economic Research (2010) discovered downturn and alluded to it as a critical decrease in financial movement spread over the economy, enduring in excess of a couple of months, ordinarily obvious in the genuine total national output (GDP), genuine pay, business, modern creation and discount retail deals. The downturn in the United States in the past has brought about worldwide budgetary emergency crushing buyers and business confirmation in a few nations like Japan, China, the European Union not barring the Asian nations in understanding to (Baldwin, 2009). Because of these antagonistic impacts, it has been marked a name which alludes to it as the Incomparable Recession that has been the explanation for the monetary breakdown in the United States. Additionally, this breakdown spread-out quick affecting pretty much every spot on the planet as (Bell, Blanchflower, 2011) states. This Great Recession had risen to be the most risky monetary droop since the world encountered the well known sadness the world experienced after the World War II (Eichengreen, Orourke, 2009) According to financial analysts, the episode of the incredible downturn was achieved by the unexpected blasting of house bubble in the United States of America. They guarantee that this house bubble blasting was impelled by fast development of rude control on subprime contracts (Cetorelli, Goldberg, 2012). The extraordinary droop's event has created and indicated the exactness of Greenspan's figure. Greenspan was the previous executive of Federal Reserve guaging the United States has 1/3 possibilities or the chance of achieving a downturn toward the finishing of the year 2007(Koo, 2011). In an activity to get legitimate knowledge of the extraordinary downturn into subtleties, grounds or roots and the repercussions of the downturn will be assessed and broke down under after points or sub-headings. Underlying foundations of the Great Recession A great deal of difficulties had confronted the United States at that point of downturn not barring high record levels of the obligations of the administration, a plunging dollar, pending dangers of a downturn, banks which are at the edge of chapter 11, a currency advertise which is solidified and a financial exchange which is falling (Koo, 2011). In agreement to (Jenkins, Brandolini, Micklewright, Nolan,2012) factors like worldwide awkward nature, paces of interests, the view of dangers, and even guideline budgetary framework profoundly affected the worldwide monetary emergency. Lodging crash US Housing market is a key factor of buyers use and the level of financial development (). A few determinants influence the house cost making it increment much quickly the wages of the customers, and along these lines it became. In this manner, it turned into the worldwide budgetary emergency that brought about the extra esteemed resources (Koo, 2011). (Jenkins, Brandolini, Micklewright, Nolan,2012) Discussed that United States House Prices were raised quick up to 2006 and after that experienced a decrease of house costs. At once, a house value decrements to amend an irregularity, it contained a significant impact on the customers who were utilizing their consumption where people can't remortgage to get an abundance capital for use (Bell, Blanchflower, 2011). Sub-Prime Mortgage Burst No single guideline of subprime contracts existed of which the home loans enterprises could sell their home loans having not thought of if the shoppers could be in a situation to repay as per (Taylor, Proao, de Carvalho, Barbosa, 2012). (Chime, Blanchflower, 2011) Approximated the value of the United States subprime home loans to be $1.3 trillion by March 2007, however there existed more than 7.5 million first-outsider home loans agitated. The purpose for this was the subprime contract was skewered to practically 20% of by and large home loan starts all through the apex of the United States lodging bubble . The incredible portion of the subprime contracts was achieved by tremendous dispossessions, and in this manner it exceptionally affected the unprejudiced home loan merchants and establishments which were not ensured under the Community Reinvestment Act (Jenkins, Brandolini, Micklewright, Nolan,2012). In this way, it was randomly influenced prompting a drowsy development and procee ded to falling on purchaser consumption notwithstanding their speculation (Bell, Blanchflower, 2011). Low pace of intrigue The United States money related specialists had adjusted the paces of enthusiasm at an unmatched level which brought about an obligation financed utilization flourishing, thus, causing a lift in lodging bubble this is in understanding to the financial experts (Jenkins, Brandolini, Micklewright, Nolan,2012). In a similar way, a portion of the financial experts battled that the paces of enthusiasm for the United States remained unreasonably low for an exceptionally long span. It suffered at 1 % in the year 2003 and 2004 which animated the incredible downturn. Financial approaches of the United States of America has not prevailing with regards to undertaking the extra esteemed resource bubble and simultaneously partook in the quick development of the sub-marine home loans, (Taylor, Proao, de Carvalho, Barbosa, 2012) scrutinized. Credit crunch High sub-marine home loan avoidances in the United States had prompted the credit crunch which implied an unforeseen deficiency of assets prompting decrements in the advances present as remarked by (Eisner, Pieper, 1984). In agreement to (Taylor, Proao, de Carvalho, Barbosa, 2012)), a few ventures banks and even business banks were regularly confronted with extraordinary misfortunes as a result of most unsafe home loan advances. Hence, most banks (business banks and speculation banks) were reluctant to offer credits to anybody and even to some other bank having a deficiency of reserve in the currency advertise (Eisner, Pieper, 1984). Insufficiency of liquidity in the fund business had prompted the demonstration of acquiring to be all the more hard and exorbitant that had prompted a decreased customer consumption and venture according to (Taylor, Proao, de Carvalho, Barbosa, 2012). Spending shortage and national obligation The obligation for the United States government remained at 65% of the Grand Domestic Product for the year 2007 and even turned out to be more terrible after that the when the liabilities for benefits were incorporated in agreement to (Alesina, Tabellini, 1990). Taking into account that immense shortfall, the United States Government stayed with less open door for the expansionary monetary strategy remembering that the populace examination led against the money related security and the degree of financial cycle declined the shortage (Henning, Kessler, 2012). (Taylor, Proao, de Carvalho, Barbosa, 2012) Commented that the United States shortfall had come about to complexities in increasing capital stream since the speculators from Asia who knew about the deficiency of the United States had speeded down the progression of money to the US and participated in dollar cheapening. In this manner, it indicated that an essential awkwardness between the local creation and utilization which had gone to be a restriction for financial development in future. Downgrading of the dollar. Fundamental monetary hypothesis expresses that a decrement in the trade rates will eventually help to build the degree of fares and trigger the development in the fare part as per (Eisner, Pieper, 1984). The decrementing dollar had brought about cost-push change and decrease in the expectations for everyday comforts inferring an expansion in the expense of buyer merchandise coming about to an insignificant consumption intensity of individuals (Alesina, Tabellini, 1990). (Jenkins, Brandolini, Micklewright, Nolan,2012) remarked that a decrease in the estimation of the dollar was realized the less seriousness of the United States in correlation with its exchanging part states. Repercussions of the extraordinary downturn The economies over the world experienced fiascoes upon the fall of the United States downturn in the year 2007. Nations like Eastern and Central Europe, and the Commonwealth of Independent nations (by and large center - salary nations) were seriously affected then countries like Ethiopia and Uganda got an opportunity to develop colossally notwithstanding the downturn (Henning, Kessler, 2012). (Chime, Blanchflower, 2011) Stated that despite the fact that few low-pay countries have gotten away from the downturn, the nations have experienced slow development in the economy in view of the negative ramifications of neediness. (Alesina, Tabellini, 1990) contended remarking that the littler and increasingly open the economy, the more grounded the hit from the incredible downturn while the bigger the up and coming economy of a nation the more the odds of endurance through the help picked up from the administration spending and household request. (Jenkins, Brandolini, Micklewright, Nolan,2012) Recognized that India and China could recoup quicker than different nations from the extraordinary downturn. Expressed that the incredible downturn had brought about various effects on different countries and states. From that point onward, a logical examination concerning the results of the incredible downturn in the United States and India are illustrated underneath. The US The United States work showcase got impact brought about by the extraordinary downturn as per (Katz, 2010, April). (Hurd, Rohwedder, 2010) Records that despite the fact that the administration had adjusted the pace of in

Life is Meaningless E.E. Cummings l(a - Literature Essay Samples
Throughout his illustrious career, E.E. Cummings produced some of the finest poems, plays, and paintings the world has ever seen. While many are masterpieces, few are as unique as his leaf-style poems. Perhaps his most famous ââ¬â and arguably his best ââ¬â of those poems is the transcendent ââ¬Å"l(a.â⬠At the surface, ââ¬Å"l(aâ⬠is a frustratingly incoherent jumble of letters in an equally confusing order. Yet, Cummings has crafted an exceptionally interesting and complex poem through the use of jarring syntax, brilliant diction, and profound symbolism. The poem begins with an string of words not easily pronounced: l(a, then le. Subsequent lines, ending in ââ¬âiness, are written in a very similar fashion; each line, with few exceptions, house only two letters. Although not in full-length sentences, the syntactical structure of the poem suggest to the reader that the poet wants to reinforce his poems theme of loneliness by showing the unpredictability and abject uncertainty of life, which is invariably shrouded in profound mystery. Its structure (letters pieced out into different lines, with considerable spacing in between each line) also creates a sense of separation, which has been identified as a substantial cause of loneliness. Reading the poem with the eyes of a deconstructionist, though, it takes on an entirely new meaning. The syntactical structure of the poem allows the reader to decipher the code that consists of the jumbled letters. Pieced together, the poem reads as: (a leaf falls) loneliness. With this in mind, the po em takes on another new meaning. The metaphor that a leaf falling is akin to loneliness is apropos because it informs the reader how boring and melancholy and meaningless life becomes when lonely. Just like the life of a leaf, a lonely person is born, (usually) cared for, and eventually cast away to the loneliness that is adulthood, death, and eventual decomposition. In that sense, the poem is very nihilistic; from the point of view of a structuralist, though, the poem is very optimistic. It is optimistic in that, while Cummingsââ¬â¢ diction (his choice to include incomplete words) as the poem goes along, complete thoughts begin to form, suggesting that life is like the poem ââ¬â at first humans are unable to form complete, coherent thoughts and are unable to be certain about things in their life. But, as humans get older, life gets better (and less lonely) for them because they are able to be more certain about the happenings of their life and are able to speak coherently, e asing their burden. On the flip side, deconstructionism tells the reader to approach the poem from a nihilistic point of view. Although according to the concept of difference there is not a single meaning to a text, Cummingsââ¬â¢ careful choice of diction tells the reader that they, like the leaf, have no choice in the matter: everyone will die and decompose and over time will become inconsequential. In other words, the leaf is a transcendental signifier for the meaningless nature of the lives of humans, animals, and leaves. From birth, humans have the extraordinary ability to quickly equate symbols with emotion. For example, newborns may equate a bottle filled with just about anyone would correlate a sharp knife pointed at them with profound fear. After all, food is good and death is bad. Nevertheless, in ââ¬Å"l(a,â⬠Cummings uses symbolism to paint a solemn emotional picture. He correlates a single leaf falling with the sad state of loneliness. From a young age, one recognizes that a single leaf falling is symbolic of its loneliness (and loneliness in general). This is, at its core, symbolic interactionism. In other words, through learned experience and the utilization of language, humans (while, ironically, in the presence of other humans) are able to understand what a single leaf falling symbolizes. In that sense, l(a is a deconstructionist poem because it uses symbols with arbitrary meaning ââ¬â or, in deconstructionist language, signs ââ¬â to create a simple yet profoundly elegant st ory about loneliness and the deep affect it has on organisms (at the surface level, leafs, but at a much deeper level, humans). The eyes through which the reader studies this poem changes it meaning entirely. Through the eyes of a structuralist, the poem can be read as an optimistic ode to self-determinism, the changing nature of life, and how chaotic the early years of humans are. Through the eyes of a deconstructionist, the poem takes on a totally different, nihilistic meaning and world view that says that, no matter class, race, religion, or gender, everyone ups in the same place: dead, decomposed, and forgotten.

Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that have the capacity and potential to develop into specialized-functioning cells. They are known as the ââ¬Å"mother cells,â⬠due to their ability to replenish tissue and regenerate organs. The two types of stem cells are embryonic and somatic (adult) cells. Embryonic stems cells (ESCs) have not been differentiated, whereas somatic adult cells (ASCs) have. In other words, embryonic stem cells can be coded to become any specific cell required by the body. Adult stem cells, however, are limited within the confines of certain functions. Because of this, embryonic stem cells are more useful to scientists due to their flexibility in use. Embryonic stem cells are classified into four groups ââ¬Å"based on their potential to generate different cell strainsâ⬠(Arce). These four categories are totipotent, luripotent, multipotent and tissue-progenitor cells. Totipotent and luripotent are found in embryos and multipotent and tissue-progenitor cells are found in adult organisms. Totipotent cells are the most flexible, because of their capability to generate all human cells, such as heart, liver, blood cells or even an entire organism. They are created when the sperm fertilizes the egg and produces a diploid known as zygote. As the zygote undergoes several cell divisions, more totipotent cells are created. After approximately four days the blastocyst, which has an inner mass cell and makes the embryo, is formed. Pluripotent cells begin forming from the

Psychology The Thought Process And Behavior Of Humans...
Psychology is the ââ¬Å"science or study of the thought process and behavior of humans and other animals by their interactions with the environmentâ⬠.(The Columbia Encyclopedia,2015) Studying sense perception, thinking, learning, cognition, emotions and motivation, personality, abnormal behavior, interactions between themselves and the environment are all vital to the interpretation of Psychology. With the formulation of the Hypothesis, based on casual observations, a systematic scientific testing procedure begins in order to obtain a resolution or determine if further test needs to be done. Psychology is considered to be a science in that it has many disciplines organized around them. Also data collection through ââ¬Å"observation and measurement, using scientific research methods, and the research gathered in a controlled approach by sifting through all the information to derive all the descriptive, and measurable data needed for justification of the hypothesisâ⬠realiz ing that results may vary due to different factors.(Feist Rosenberg, 2015, p.6) Between the 14th and 17th centuries, studies of the mind and brain were rejuvenated, where the attention was shifted to the behavior and anatomy of humans, from animals.(Dwyer, 2012) French philosophers Rene Descartes and Baruch Spinoza had similar Hypotheses saying that mind and body influenced each other or had influence from the same stimuli . What roles did Wundt and James play in establishing psychology? Wilhelm Wundt played a key role in establishing psychology after his book Principles of Physiological Psychology argued that psychology should be studied as it s own distinct scientific discipline rather than a sub-category of physiology. Essay On Stonehenge Example For Students
Essay On Stonehenge StonehengeOn the British Isles more than nine hundred stone rings exist. Most people preferto call them rings rather than circles for the reason that only two percent of them are truecircles. The other ninety eight percent of these structures are constructed in an ellipticalshape. Stonehenge in itself is roughly circular. Most of these rings cannot be datedexactly, but it is known that they are from the Neolithic period. In southern England the Neolithic period begins around the time of the firstfarming communities in 4000 B.C. to the time of the development of bronze technologyaround 2000 B.C., by that time the construction of major monuments was mostly over. Because of the scarcity of the archaeological record at the stone rings, any attempts toexplain the functions of the structures are guesses. Most attempts tend to reflect thecultural relatedness of their times. Most people believe that these rings were constructedby a group of people called Druids. This idea of Stonehenge being constructed by Druids has become deeply implantedin the uneducated minds of popular culture from tie seventeenth century to the present. Itis common knowledge that the druids had nothing to do with these rings. The Druidsflourished after about 300 B.C., more than 1500 years after the last stone rings wereconstructed. Even more, there is no evidence that suggests that the Druids even usedthese stone rings for ritual purposes. Any Druidic connection with the stone rings ispurely hypothetical. During the nineteenth and early twentieth century, prehistorians attributedStonehenge and other stone rings to Egyptian and Mycenean travelers who were thoughtto have infused Europe and Bronze age culture. With the development of carbon 14dating methods, the infusion-diffusion of British Neolithic history was abandoned and themegalithic monuments of Britain were shown to predate those in most other countries. While the carbon 14 method provided approximate dates for the stone rings it was no useexplaining their function. Research by scholars outside the discipline of archaeology suggested a use different to that of rituals. In the 1950s and 1960s, the Oxford University engineer Alexander Thom and theastronomer Gerald Hawkins pioneered the new field of archaeoastronomy-the study of theastronomies of ancient civilizations. Conducting precise surveys at various stone rings andother megalithic structures, Thom and Hawkins discovered many significant astronomicalalignments among the stones. This evidence suggested that the stone rings were used asastronomical observatories. Moreover, the archaeoastronomers revealed the extraordinarymathematical sophistication and engineering abilities that the native British developedbefore either Egyptian or Mesopotamian cultures. While the findings of Thom and Hawkins were fascinating, even revolutionary, more recent studies by Aubrey Burl and Benjamin Ray have tempered some of the earlierclaims. Stonehenge, the most visited and well known of the British stone rings, is acomposite structure built during three distinct periods. In Period I (radiocarbon-dated to3100 B.C.), Stonehenge was a circular ditch with an internal bank. The circle, 320 feet indiameter, had a single entrance, 56 mysterious holes around its perimeter (with remains inthem of human cremations), and a wooden sanctuary in the middle. The circle wasaligned with the midsummer sunrise, the midwinter sunset and the most southernly risingand northernly setting of the moon. Period II (2150 B.C.) saw the replacement of the wooden sanctuary with twobluestones, the widening of the entrance, the construction of an entrance avenuemarked by two parallel ditches aligned to the midsummer sunrise, and the erection, outsidethe circle, of a thirty-five ton Heelstone. The eighty bluestones, some weighing as muchas four tons, were transported from the Prescelly mountains in Wales, 240 miles away. During Period III (2075 B.C.), the bluestones were taken down and the enormousSaracen stones-which still stand today-were erected. These stones, averaging eighteenfeet in height and weighing twenty five tons, were transported from near the Aveburystone rings twenty miles north. .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 , .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .postImageUrl , .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 , .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:hover , .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:visited , .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:active { border:0!important; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:active , .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8 .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u37d2d98c175ab1c400db5f717aa5c0c8:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Canadian Family Enetering 21st EssaySometime between 1500 and 1100 BC, approximately sixty of the bluestones werereset immediately inside of the Saracen circle, and another nineteen were placed in ahorseshoe pattern, also inside the circle.
